Hadohhhh …. belum satu minggu update wordpress ke versi 2.9, ini malah sudah release WordPress 2.9.1 Beta 1. Ada apa gerangan denganmu versi 2.9???. Setelah saya cek ke TKP wordpress.org/development dan weblogtoolscollection.com, ternyata ada bug atau masalah pada wordpress versi 2.9  yaitu tidak adanya posting terjadwal (Schedule Post) atau posting terjadwal tidak berfungsi pada menu post editor seperti pada versi-versi sebelumnya. Jadi setiap kita posting hanya ada pilihan Publish, langsung terbit  (immediately) dan Save Draft. Masalah lainnya yaitu adanya bug pada pingback untuk beberapa pengguna. Untuk lebih lengkapnya ini kutipannya :

Unfortunately, the recent 2.9 release triggered a bug in certain versions of PHP’s curl extension.  With these versions of curl, scheduled posts and pingbacks are not processed correctly.  To fix this problem as well as a handful of other, lesser issues, we are quickly releasing 2.9.1, the first maintenance release of the 2.9 line.  Help us get 2.9.1 ready to go by testing 2.9.1 Beta 1.  The easiest way to test Beta 1 is to install the WordPress Beta Tester plugin, elect to get on the point release development track, and then perform an automatic upgrade via the Tools->Upgrade menu.  You can also download the Beta 1 package and install manually.  Fourteen tickets have been fixed in 2.9.1 Beta 1.  Since the curl problem and a couple of other problems are dependent on specific hosting configurations, any and all testing help is greatly appreciated.

Saya sendiri belum berniat untuk mengapdetnya ke versi 2.9.1 Beta 1, karena menurut weblogtoolscollection.com dalam beberapa hari lagi akan ada WordPress 2.9.1 versi finalnya. Jadi biar sekalian gak cape dua kali update, kemungkinan akan kita cari sendiri  pada file php penyebab bug seperti file cron.php sambil menunggu release terbaru. Tapi bagi yang mau update silahkan ikuti cara ini:

Pertama silahkan gunakan plugin WordPress Beta tester plugin. Download dan aktifkan, kemudian ke Menu Tools-> Upgrade. Atau download beta version of WordPress 2.9.1 kemudian update secara manual. Caranya hampir sama dengan postingan saya sebelumnya Update WordPress ke versi 2.9 (terbaru).

Update :

Berdasarkan info yang diberikan Mas Adi (blogmuria.co.cc) pada kolom komentar, untuk mengatasinya diantara dengan Patched, setelah nanya simbah Google akhirnya ketemu file patchnya (ada 3 buah file yaitu class-simplepie.php, default-widgets.php dan http.php. Silahkan download di sini (Patched files for WP 2.9). Kemudian extrak dan upload 3 buah file tadi ke folder wp-includes untuk mereplace file lama.
